Ben Brearley
Board directors becoming IT-savvy
Confidence around technology
Building comfort with ambiguity and engaging meaningfully without direct technical expertise.
Possibly dealing with perceived lack of credibility or usefulness (who am I to talk about this stuff).
Also may include continuous learning - what can people do to stay up to date?
Technology as strategy
Looking at how technology can be thought of in ways other than just risk ("we've done a cyber") and how it can be more of an opportunity for the organisation.
Curiosity and open-mindedness
Helping them stay engaged and ask the right questions regarding technology rather than detaching or dismissing someone as a tech-head who can't offer business value.
This might help them deal with very technical people, because they can extract the information they need from them without needing to be deeply technical.
Relationships and collaboration
Building better relationships with technical leaders so they can stay informed and connected to the right information.
May be too similar to the previous one but thought it could be called out separately.
