Ben Brearley

Ben Brearley is a leadership coach and facilitator who works with senior leaders and leadership teams to improve confidence, judgement, and effectiveness in complex, high-stakes environments.

Ben began his career in technical software development and IT delivery roles, before moving into senior project, program, and transformation leadership positions across consulting and industry. He has led and supported complex technology initiatives in organisations such as AEMO, Water Corporation, and EY, working closely with senior leadership teams, executives, and governance forums.

Through this work, Ben developed a strong focus on the human and leadership challenges that sit alongside technology, including how technical leaders communicate, make decisions under uncertainty, and step up into higher levels of accountability. His work explores how trust, influence, and judgement shape outcomes at the top of organisations.

Today, Ben runs his leadership coaching practice, Thoughtful Leader, where he works with senior leaders across public and private sectors. His coaching is pragmatic, reflective, and grounded in organisational experience, helping leaders think clearly, communicate effectively, and operate with confidence.

Ben holds an MBA and degrees in computer and mathematical science and biochemistry, and is an ICF-accredited coach and facilitator.
